During week 6 we had to research more articles and videos about authentic learning. I went more for the articles view. I have found several articles from the ESC Library databases. I went for the approach because I know they are legitimate articles and are real research on such an important topic. You have to be very careful with using google because many sources with .com or .net may not be credible. .edu or .org sources are a little bit more valuable. To avoid any of that I chose the Library at ESC. In the Library I found many article but one in particular stood out to me. The name of it is "The integration of Authentic Learning Principles and Facebook in Service Learning" by Halawati Abdul and Jalil Safuan. This article talks about and researches the idea of Facebook becoming a learning tool. This invention of Facebook allows peple to chat, socialize, share ideas, play games, etc. Why not use it as a learning tool as well. Group work can be done on there and events. A good point that is made in the reading is that "Students are given the leverage to express their thoughts, opinions and suggestions on Facebook." I think we sould really look more into this and use it to our advantage. Check the reading out!
